Public Hearings: Initial Bargaining Proposals

In compliance with the Educational Employment Relations Act, the Board will hold public hearings for the District’s and the Huntington Beach Elementary Teachers Association’s (HBETA) initial proposals for the 2025-2026 bargaining agreement. These proposals outline priorities and negotiation topics for the upcoming school year and are available for public review.
Comprehensive School Safety Plans (2024-2025)

The Board will review and consider approval of the 2024-2025 Comprehensive School Safety Plans, which outline site-specific strategies for ensuring safe and secure learning environments across all District schools.

Each school’s plan, developed in collaboration with site councils, safety committees, and local first responders, addresses safety measures, including:
  • Emergency response procedures, including disaster protocols and active shooter drills
  • Anti-bullying and cyberbullying prevention strategies
  • Opioid prevention and life-saving response procedures
  • Policies for maintaining a safe and orderly campus environment
  • School discipline and hate crime reporting procedures
Copies of each school’s plan are available for review at school sites and the district office. School Site Council-approved budgets support expenditures within established guidelines.
Second Interim Budget Report (2024-2025)

The Board will review the Second Interim Financial Report for recommended approval as part of state-mandated financial reporting. The report assesses the District’s ability to meet financial obligations for the current and subsequent two fiscal years. Based on updated state and county financial projections, it recommends a positive certification, indicating that the District is on track to meet its fiscal responsibilities. Budget projections and financial details are included in the full report, which is available on the District website.
